Does it validate against a schema?

No. It checks that the document is well formed (properly nested and closed). XSD or DTD validation is not performed.

Are external entities loaded?

No. The browser XML parser never fetches external entities or DTDs, so pasting untrusted XML is safe.

Is my data sent to a server?

No. Everything is processed in your browser, which matters when the input is a production payload, token or query. Nothing is uploaded, logged or stored.
