Is my document uploaded?

No. The file is opened and converted inside your browser. It is never sent to a server.

Will it look exactly like it does in Word?

No. The tool extracts the written content: headings, formatted text, lists, tables and links. Page layout, fonts, images, headers and footers are not reproduced.

Can it open old .doc or .xls files?

No. Only the modern formats (.docx and .xlsx) are supported. Open the file in an office application and save it in the newer format first.
