Are my files uploaded?

No. Files are read and processed inside your browser. They are never sent to a server, and closing the tab discards them.

Which checksum should I use?

Use SHA-256 or stronger whenever the publisher offers it. MD5 and SHA-1 can detect accidental corruption but can be forged deliberately.

Up to 2 GB, subject to the memory available to your browser.

Calculate MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256 and SHA-512 checksums and verify downloads.
