A shared photo can reveal where you live or work through its GPS coordinates, and when you were there. Removing metadata before posting protects your privacy.

Does removal reduce image quality?

Not for JPG and PNG: only the metadata blocks are deleted and the picture data is copied untouched. Other formats are re-encoded at high quality.

What about the colour profile?

It is kept by default because removing it can shift colours. You can choose to remove it too.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Images are decoded, processed and re-encoded by your browser on your own device. They are never sent to a server, and closing the tab discards them.
