Why did I get no text?

Scanned PDFs contain images of text rather than text itself. Those need optical character recognition (OCR).

Are my PDF files uploaded?

No. The document is opened and rewritten inside your browser. It is never sent to a server, and closing the tab discards it.

Unlock it first with the Unlock PDF tool, using its password. Protected files cannot be processed directly.

JavaScript is turned off. InspireTools processes files in your browser, so the tools need JavaScript to run.

Extract the text from a PDF as a plain text file.
