Is my video uploaded?

No. The video is processed on your device, inside your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.

Which browsers does it work in?

Current Chrome, Edge and Firefox, and Safari 16.4 or later. Video is decoded and encoded with the codecs built into your browser. MP4 and MOV (H.264) need a browser with an H.264 encoder, which Chrome, Edge, Safari and most versions of Firefox have; WebM works in all of them.

Files up to 1 GB. Encoding in a browser is several times slower than a desktop app and uses a lot of memory, so this is best for short and medium clips. For long or 4K videos, use desktop software.

Which format should I choose?

MP4 (H.264) plays on virtually every phone, computer and TV, and is made with the H.264 encoder built into your browser. Choose WebM for the web, or when your browser cannot make MP4.
